4. Preparing the application via the General Regime

Applications are exclusively completed online. For most Lisbon campus programmes apply here.

For applications for the Integrated Master's in Medicine apply here .

Yes, because if you are accepted, you will have more time to arrange your visa and move to Portugal.

No. Please check the website of each Academic Unit. The application fee is payable per Academic Unit and is valid for a maximum of 4 degrees in that Unit. If you apply for degrees in different Academic Units, you will have to pay an application fee per Unit. The application fee is non-refundable.

No, separate applications need to be completed for each campus, and an application fee is paid per campus.

Yes, but you need to complete separate applications for each campus.

You can apply to up to four programmes per Academic Unit. If these programmes are from different Academic Units, you will have to pay an application fee per Unit.

Yes, when you apply to the CLSBE international programme, please ensure that you mention in your application if you also intend to apply for the national degree programme, not being necessary to pay additional application fees.

Applicants with Portuguese secondary education must also present:

  • 'Ficha ENES' issued in the year of application

Applicants with foreign secondary education must also present:

  • Diploma and academic transcript of secondary education (subjects completed and scores) with final classification;
  • Declaration issued by the Secondary Education Institution, with information on the final grading scale and minimum pass scores, should this information not be included on the academic transcript;
  • Certificate of equivalence to Portuguese secondary education - Consult Direção Geral Educação - DGE

 

Original documents / certificates are not required at the time of completing the application, but they will be required to complete the eventual admission process.

Since 2022, exams will be valid for the year in which they are taken and for the following 4 years (5-year validity). National and foreign exams taken in 2022, 2023 and 2024 will be valid for the 2024 exams.

If you have completed Portuguese secondary education,  the ENES form issued in the year of your application only includes the exams that are valid.

If you have completed foreign secondary education, you can use scores from national exams taken in 2022, 2023 or 2024.

Yes. If admited, in the beginning of the school year, you must present these to Academic Services – Front Office (Library building, level 0 from 9 am - 6 pm). They include the original ENES Form (Portuguese secondary education) / Diploma and academic transcript of secondary education (foreign secondary education), and a certificate of equivalence to Portuguese secondary education, if applicable. For foreign documents, please refer see FAQ 5.13. regarding translation/legalization requirements.

If you do not present the originals of your documents, your registration may be cancelled.

The academic year begins in September and ends in June. There are 10 monthly instalments. Please see here for the annual table of tuition, rates, and fees.

If you have been admitted to an undergraduate programme and have a sibling studying in an undergraduate programme at Católica, you may check with the Academic Services-Front Office (Library building, level 0) to assess whether you are eligible for a reduction in fees.

 

Yes, many Faculties offer merit-based scholarships. For details, see below:

Yes, classes are held onsite for most programmes, except for Philosophy (b-learning) and Religious Sciences (e-learning).

Check with each Academic Unit for special conditions applicable to students with student-worker status or who are high-performance athletes.

Yes, there is Residência Universitária Feminina (Female University Residence). Although Universidade Católica does not have residences for male students in Lisbon, there are two residences close to its headquarters: Colégio Universitário Pio XII (Av. Forças Armadas, contact 217967146 and email secretaria@colegiopio12.com) and Colégio Universitário Montes Claros (Rua Vera Lagoa, N.5 contact 217221000 / 96033408 and email mc@montesclaros.pt).

The Social Responsability Office can also provide a list of accommodation contacts.

Some Academic Units have partnerships with accommodation providers in the city centre that offer student discounts. Please check with each Unit.
